Foodtown Moving into Corrado's Space in Brick

Good news for everyone who was upset about Corrado's being evicted from the Laurel Square Mall in Brick. Another store has already agreed to move in. A Foodtown Supermarket will be opening before the end of the summer.

"What unbelievable good luck!" said spokesperson for Brick, Annie Daynow. "Foodtown was looking for a space to open in Brick, and now that Corrado's didn't work out, the perfect spot is available for them."

Foodtown had once had a store in Brick located in a site unaffectionately referred to as the "old Foodtown lot" by locals. The store's return is an unexpected surprise. A representative for Foodtown, Will B. Seeinya, said the company is thrilled to be coming back. "This is a great opportunity to once again be part of a great community. We may not be Corrado's, but we are a great store looking forward to a great future in a great location."

There are other retail changes happening in Brick. Aldi's will be moving to one of the new spaces being built in the old Foodtown location. The empty Aldi's space is going to be filled with a new Pathmark. This will be only the second Pathmark to open since they started their comeback in Brooklyn, NY.  Royal Farms has decided they will be closing their recently built store by the end of summer and reopening on the old Boston Market site. A Welsh Farms convenience store will be moving into the vacated Royal Farms.

Meanwhile, the site of the closed Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant will soon be the home of Houlihan's Restaurant which is moving from its current location on Route 70 near Costco. The vacated Houlihan's spot won't be empty for long as a Sonic has plans for that site. Down the road, the empty McDonald's will soon be a large Dairy Queen. Dunkin has announced they will be opening an additional seven locations in Brick, Point Borough, and Bay Head. We can also expect to see four new Wawas opening soon. And finally, Wegman's has reaffirmed that under no circumstances will they ever be coming to this area.

"I know it seems like it's too good to be true," said Annie Daynow, "but I assure you this will all be happening. I know I said that about Corrado's coming to Brick, but this is different. These changes are coinciding with the alignment of five planets which is a certain sign of everything coming to pass. Fingers crossed!"
