Former NY Giant Tommy DeVito Will Be At Livoti's Grand Opening
After what seems like forever, Brick is finally getting an Italian grocery store. When Corrado's dropped the ball, Livoti's Old World Market stepped in to pick it up and run with it. The grand opening of Livoti's in Brick on March 7 promises to be a big event with plenty of food and fun for everyone. For those who are fans of Italian food, and Italian quarterbacks, there's a good chance they may see former NY Giants quarterback Tommy "Cutlets" DeVito.
DeVito's agent, Sean Stellato, made the arrangements for his client to be at Livoti's on opening day. "Ya know, everybody loves Tommy 'Cutlets'. After his three and a half game career with the Giants, Tommy became a superstar," said Stellato. "I been gettin' offers all over the place, Corrado's was beggin' him to come, but Tommy said no way. He told me, it was Livoti's or nothin'!"
Macon Pastah, the general manager of Livoti's, had nothing but praise for DeVito. "Tommy is a fine young man and we're happy to have him with us. In just a short time he has proven to be a valuable asset. I guess it's not that hard to go from throwing a pigskin to slicing pork roll." Pastah said that everyone was very impressed with DeVito at Livoti's training camp. He was a natural on the meat slicer and will be working in the deli department on opening day. Tommy will also serve as backup for the pizza guy.
For his part, DeVito seems very happy with his new team. "The people at Livoti's have been great," said DeVito. "They have a winning attitude and I'm ready to give 110% to my new team. Sure, it's not as glamorous as the NFL, but I do get a discount on all the cutlets I buy for my mom."
Look for DeVito at Livoti's on opening day, and on weekdays and alternate Saturdays. He won't be giving any autographs, but he will let you have a sample when he slices your deli meats and cheeses.
Macon Pastah has high expectations for DeVito. "We know that Tommy will do great, but just in case I have contacted Tyrod Taylor's agent. It's always best to have a good backup in the Italian grocery game."
