5G Towers Coming to Local Playgrounds and Parks

5G is the future of wireless communications. With true broadband speed, 5G has the potential to replace cable as the primary source of internet access, even within the home. Because of this potential, mobile carriers are scrambling to install 5G towers throughout the country.  In the coming months, many towns at the Jersey Shore will be seeing more and more 5G towers installed primarily at parks and playgrounds.

"We found that the open spaces at public parks are ideal for our 5G towers," said Sam Suhng from 5G Broadband Alternative Directive (BAD.) a promotional agency for the cellular industry. "There are no structures in the way of the signal so it is stronger and can carry farther. We at 5G BAD. want people to know that 5G will make cable broadband obsolete, so the sooner wireless carriers install these towers, the sooner everyone can cut that cord."

Despite the positive aspects of 5G, there are many who object to its expansion. The grass-roots group Wireless Has Injured Nearly Everyone (WHINE.), believes that wireless towers have caused all sorts of maladies and that 5G is even worse. Its founder, Mona Lott, is fighting to keep 5G out of our towns, and even would like to see other cellphone towers removed. "We have extensive anecdotal evidence that proves the danger of cell phone towers. When they built a cell phone tower near our home 20 years ago, my husband had a full head of hair. Now, he is completely bald! Coincidence? Another person reports that she used be able to see a church steeple from her yard, but when they installed a cell tower near the church, she could no longer see it! What else but harmful cell tower radiation could account for this sudden loss of vision?"

Mrs. Lott and WHINE believe there are countless ways 5G can harm people. They cite everything from creating diseases to worsening your chances to win the lottery. WHINE actually believes that pay phones should return so people wouldn't need cellular service.

Sam Suhng is not impressed with the objections. "I've heard WHINE. and Mona Lott and while I respect their right to their opinions, their opinions are stupid. We have done many studies with paid volunteers and the side effects from being near 5G towers were negligible if  exposure is limited to less than two hours. So really, all people have to do is be sure not to stay in the park that long. And even if they do stay too long, the effects weren't so bad. For example, most test subjects said they enjoyed smelling color and tasting sounds that resulted from their exposure. So really, it's a win win."

A 5G tower has been installed in Riverfront Park in Point Pleasant and will become operational in June. An identical tower has also been placed in Windward Beach in Brick. Both towns have plans for additional towers. The towers are the type that resemble giant fake trees to better blend in with the surroundings. "These 5G towers are the latest design, built with a special coating to deter birds from nesting," said Suhng. "Without this, birds that remain too long usually develop a tendency to glow and sometimes have flammable feathers. No need to worry about that with these towers, though."

5G BAD will be promoting the benefits of 5G in the coming months. As Sam Suhng says, "Sure, this technology has some bugs to work out, and sure there are unknown dangers, but isn't a little risk worth it if you can get rid of your cable company? I mean, c'mon, everyone hates cable. Am I right?"

Safety signs will be posted in each park where the 5G towers are installed.

Look for new 5G towers to be installed at Community Park in Point Borough, Centennial Park in Bay Head, and Lake Riviera Park in Brick by the end of summer.
