Local Da Vinci Expert to Open Genius Gym in Point Beach

In a small room in Milan, Italy, Bay Head resident, Dr. Falsa Nomé is rewriting Renaissance history. The room in which she works had been sealed up for five centuries and was only recently discovered when repairs were made to the ancient building where it is located. The building is now a museum, but was once the residence of Leonardo Da Vinci, the man many consider the greatest genius in history. The little room seems to have been used as a vault by Da Vinci, and inside Dr. Nomé is discovering unimaginable treasures.

Dr. Nomé is a professor of Renaissance studies at Rutgers and one of the world's top experts on Leonardo Da Vinci.  For her, this is the discovery of a lifetime. “It is truly extraordinary and exciting,” said Dr. Nomé. “Almost everything we are finding are completely unknown works by Da Vinci. We have just begun to explore this room and already we are amazed at what we have found.” What she has found most interesting is that the majority of the work seems to be devoted to Da Vinci's idea for a diet and exercise program. Dr. Nomé has translated a journal that was found, and the results have been really surprising.

Every day I notice that more and more of the residents of Milan are putting on weight. Ever since that restaurant came up with that new Chicken Milanese, it seems like that is all people are eating. Sure, it's good, but would it hurt to have a salad once in a while? I was all set to do a painting of my friend Mona Lisa with that lovely smile, but when she showed up, I could barely recognize her! She looked more like Moo-na Lisa!

I have decided to devote my genius to methods of improving the health of Mona Lisa. My extensive study of human anatomy should help me create a comprehensive program of diet and exercise that will allow her to go from fat to fit.

"Some of the sketches we have found are completely changing our understanding of some of Da Vinci's most famous works," said Dr. Nomé. She discovered additional sketches of Vetruvian Man that show Da Vinci's intent was to use it as a demonstration of Renaissance jumping jacks.

Dr.Nomé also found that a drawing of a machine once thought to be for a military purpose was actually Da Vinci's attempt to create a treadmill that could "restore youthful vigor" to its users..

Da Vinci also included a number of sketches of Mona Lisa that Dr. Nomé was able to colorize and animate to get a better idea of  the overweight lady that Da Vinci saw.

Da Vinci wrote that after Mona Lisa followed his diet and exercise program for just a few weeks, she slimmed down to the image we all know, and she kept the weight off.

With Da Vinci's diet and exercise, Mona Lisa quickly slimmed down.

Dr. Nomé says that Da Vinci created a complete regimen to help get Mona Lisa into shape. The results were so positive that he had planned to open several gyms.
Mona Lisa looks so beautiful and healthy now that I believe I should open health centers throughout Milan. People can enroll for a full year and work on their fitness whenever they like. I can get the money up front so I make a profit even if they stop coming! I am considering the name "La palestra e la dieta di Leonardo Da Vinci."  (Leonardo Da Vinci's Gym and Diet) I will also publish a book with diet and exercise advice. It should all be a great success!

"Da Vinci essentially wrote the first diet and exercise book and invented the franchised gym," said Dr. Nomé. "It is unfortunate that he was never able to make this a reality. That is why it is so exciting that I now have a chance to make Da Vinci's dream come true."

Dr. Nomé is opening The Da Vinci Diet and Renaissance Gym in Point Pleasant Beach. "Using what I have learned about Leonardo's fitness program, I will create the franchise the he never had the chance to open. After Point Beach, I am looking to open in Wall and Brick. He is one of history's most brilliant individuals, so clients know they will be getting the best advice on their health."

A book is also in the works. Titled You Too Can Be a Mona Lisa, the book will provide readers with fitness guidance straight from the Renaissance. "I am so thrilled that I am able to bring a bit of Da Vinci's genius to the modern world," said Dr. Nomé. "And for only $29.99 a month for gym membership, it's a real bargain, too."
